GIS

The Geographic Information System (GIS) is compiled by Federal, State and County agencies. The Wells County GIS Office is managed by Michael Lautzenheiser Jr., Director of the Area Plan Commission. More information about the GIS office is available @ www.wellscounty.org/GIS

The Wells County Surveyor's office responsibility is to maintain the Drainage Map (open and tile drains), watershed boundary lines, spray program location, cornerstones, and benchmark locations. A variety of special maps are prepared by using the GIS map base from other county departments.

The County has made a majority of their GIS data available to the public on our GIS beacon website. Some information is not yet available on the GIS website as of this date .
